The Great British Bake Off: a summary

(via come-on-evy)

“It’s interesting because I just did a radio programme with Dan Radcliffe who’s a good friend and a phenomenally talented guy. He’s someone who’s been famous since he was ten-years-old and I have no idea how he handles that level of craziness and he handles it so gracefully, and he’s so lovely - it takes a lot of energy to be that way. It’s interesting to say it about someone who’s probably 15 years my junior but I can only hope to be as graceful as he is and I actually look to his example of being a person who just appreciates what he’s been given and works incredibly hard to take advantage of his opportunities.”

Anonymous said: I think in your post you meant sex instead of gender, because there are a lot of genders And intersex, where you are born with both male and female reproductive parts, is most certainly not made up

When you are born with both it doesn’t make a whole new gender, you’re just both. This isn’t difficult to understand.

Anonymous said: hi you seem very educated in terms like sjw, otherkin? could you maybe list some terms you could think of and explain them? i have searched online but i still don't understand. thank you tons and your blog is gorg and sorry for disturbing

pro-bees-anti-feminism:

Uuuh sure, I wasn’t aware that I was even that educated in these terms, I thought I’m just a person who likes to argue too much, but I’ll do my best.

SJW: Social Justice Warrior. One of those names that seems much nicer than it actually is. A Social Justice Warrior is a person who believes they’re fighting for social justice but uses underhand tactics, faulty logic and general extremism. They basically see the world as split into two groups, the oppressed, and the oppressors. The oppressors are white, able, thin, male, cis, and straight. The oppressed are anything but white, disabled, female, overweight, trans, and LGBT+. They will sort people into one of the two categories with no attention paid to class, education, income, stability, resources or just general quality of life. An example is that a white man who is dirt poor and barely scraping an education apparently has a better life than a black woman who is well off and educated, in the opinions of SJWs anyway. Essentially it’s just prejudice packaged as justice. It’s Social Justice Warriors that you see in the “kill all men” tags.

Privilege: The idea that these “oppressors” all have a better quality of life than the “oppressed.” Once again without any consideration to the actual quality of life of said person. This is true to a certain extent, for instance a white person is slightly less likely to be convicted of a crime than a black person, or a trans person has a higher chance of being murdered, but on tumblr this is taken to such an extreme that on tumblr it is socially acceptable to be racist to a person for being white, or even to give out their personal details and encourage people to attack them, or many more appalling things. Also SJWs will cling onto the idea of certain people having privilege even with evidence to the contrary, there is plenty of evidence to show that women aren’t oppressed, but they still cling onto the idea.

Otherkin: Originally a person who has a spiritual belief or a deep connection to a certain animal. For instance a person who feels that they were a coyote in a previous life and enjoys continuing to live as a “coyote.” Usually they fully understand that they’re human, they just prefer to live as an animal. Nowadays it usually just means a person who tries to act like they are trans without actually transitioning. They pretend that they were born in the wrong species, and they will demand that you use made up pronouns otherwise you’re “misgendering” them, which is an actual problem for trans people. This would be ridiculous enough, but some go further and call themselves fiction-otherkin (they pretend to be mermaids, or fairies, or - get this - “Sirius Black-kin”) or even things like Supernatural-kin, I mean the show, not ghosts, although some pretend to be ghosts. Again, this wouldn’t be a problem if they weren’t trying to act like they face the same problems as trans people. The people you see that demand that you call them “kitself” “bunself” “merself” are otherkin.

Genderspecial: Like otherkin people who use special genders are trying to act like they are trans, when they are actually cis. They call themselves things like “firegender” or “libragender” because they are uncomfortable with being called cis because as we have noted in the previous examples, being cis on tumblr is a terrible sin. So they try to act like they’re on par with those who are transgender, without actually suffering from gender dysphoria. They’ve even gone as far as to make a gender they dub “comfogender,” which means “a person who is comfortable in the gender they were assigned at birth” which literally just means cis, I mean are they even serious?!

Truscum: A term used by the above special snowflakes to describe a person who understands that you need to suffer from Gender Dysphoria to be transgender, and understand that being trans is not a phase, but a lifelong decision. They are often seen as judgmental, but really they’re just trying to make sure that the teenagers on this site (because most ARE teenagers) don’t get this idea that you can just choose to be a different gender, which could encourage them to attempt to transition, which could be harmful to them and cause Gender Dysphoria to be taken less seriously. If you don’t fully understand what Gender Dysphoria is then there are extensive explanations online. :)

TERF: I don’t fully understand this one myself, but from what I understand it’s a person who believes the opposite of what Truscum believe.
Special sexualities: Like special genders, but with sexualities. E.g. “I’m lunasexual. I only feel sexual attraction under a full moon”

Essentially these are mostly terms to describe people who don’t seem to understand that things that are out of your control (your race, sexuality, gender, ect) NEVER define you as a person. It’s perfectly ok to be trans, it’s perfectly ok to be cis, it’s perfectly ok to be white, it’s perfectly ok to be black, it’s perfectly ok to be asian, ect ect with any other uncontrollable trait you can imagine. It’s NOT ok to judge a person on a trait they cannot control, whether they’re male, or female, or gay, or strait or whatever. It’s important to always remember this, and to remember that a person who laughs at a person for being white is just as shitty as a person who laughs at a person for being black, they’re both racism no matter how tumblr tries to skew the definition of it.

I hope this makes some sense, I’ve not had much sleep and I’m exhausted, but if you have any questions about any other terms or anything I’d love to explain as best I can. :D

There are two genders, male and female. You can be both but that just makes you both, it doesn’t create a whole new gender. People of today should stop making genders up, forcing people to accept it and getting upset when people refuse to.
